Asahimas profits up 14.6%

JAKARTA (JP): PT Asahimas Flat Glass Co. Ltd booked a 14.6 percent increase in net profits to Rp 37.3 billion (US$15.9 million) for the six-month period ended in June 30, up from the Rp 32.5 billion recorded for the same period of last year.

Asahimas, which is listed on the Jakarta Stock Exchange, said that its earnings per share increased to Rp 86 from Rp 75 in the period, with its net margin improving 19.8 percent from 16.9 percent.

Net sales for the first half of 1996 were Rp 188.6 billion, a 2 percent drop from the first half of 1995. (hen)
