AS-IOP beats Ricky Yacoby for Under-13 Aspirin Cup

JAKARTA (JP): Host AS-IOP Apacinti won the Under-13 Aspirin Cup soccer tournament on Sunday with a convincing 6-1 victory over Ricky Yacoby here.

Earlier, Bintaro Jaya topped Tunas Patriot 6-2 to claim third place in the event.

AS-IOP's Andro Levandi netted goals in the eighth and 31st minutes. Agus added a goal in the 21st minute and Michel Nere, the son of former national soccer player Rully Nere, contributed goals in the 23rd, 36th and 55th minutes.

Ricky Yacoby's goal was scored by Arthur on a penalty shot awarded in the 39th minute.

AS-IOP and Ricky Yacoby were coached by former national players Ronny Pattinasarany and Ricky Yacoby, respectively.

In the match for third place, Bintaro Jaya's Rocky Priatna scored goals in the 24th, 39th and 51st minutes.

Teammate Abdullah netted goals in the 48th and 59th minutes, while Sonny Wicaksono kicked off the scoring with a goal five minutes into the match.

Syamsul did his best to keep Tunas Patriot in the match, scoring in the 15th and 22nd minutes.

Besides winning the tournament, two AS-IOP players received individual honors.

Andro was the top scorer in the event with 27 goals, earing him the best striker award, for which he received the Apacinti Cup and sports equipment from Adidas. Teammate Alfiansyah was honored as the best midfielder.

Age A from Pondok Cipta Bekasi was recognized as the top goalkeeper, and Eddi Junaedi of Tunas Patriot Bekasi was named the event's top defender.

Despite being ousted in the qualifying round, Wahana Bogor was recognized as the most popular team of the tournament.
