Art Summit awards for media coverage
JAKARTA (JP): The Directorate General of Culture is scheduled on Friday to hand out awards to seven print and electronic media companies for their coverage of last year's Art Summit, which was held between September and October.
The award ceremony will be held at Building F of the Ministry of Education and Culture's complex on Jl. Sudirman in South Jakarta, the event committee said on Thursday.
The awards will be given in several categories, including best article, photo and TV footage, as well as to the media company which provided the most coverage of the event.
The decisions on the award winners were made by juries of related experts.
The team deciding the awards for articles consisted of Sapardi Djoko Damono of the University of Indonesia, Indonesian art observer Jennifer Lindsay and stage actor/journalist N. Riantiarno.
The team deciding the awards for photos consisted of Oscar Matullah of the Antara news agency, Judhi Suryoatmojo of the Antara Photo Gallery and Deniek G. Sukarya of the Cahya Photo Gallery.
The team deciding the awards for TV footage consisted of television observer/journalist Arswendo Atmowiloto, film director Chaerul Umam and play director/artist Jajang C. Noer. (hhr)
