Art forum opens Sunday

UJUNGPANDANG, South Sulawesi: Some 200 artists and critics,
from locally and overseas, will participate in the Makassar Art
Forum to be opened here on Sunday.

The event, which will last till Sept. 12, is scheduled to be
held at three venues: the Ford Rotterdam fortress, the South
Sulawesi Cultural Park and the Societet de Harmonie Art Center.

The Forum will feature various musical and dance performances
representing both local and foreign cultures.

Among the countries participating in the event are the United
States, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Malaysia and Netherlands.

Highlighting the occasion will be a discussion on art and
culture featuring foreign speakers such as Michael Bodden from
Canada and Elizabeth Morell and Barbara Hatley from Australia.
