Arsonist jailed for two months

TOULON, France (AP): An English fan has been jailed for two months for setting fire to a World Cup hotel room.

Shaun Hutchinson, 29, from Newcastle, was also ordered to pay 10,000 francs (US$ 1,700) in compensation for the damage.

Hutchinson, who was charged with willful damage, appeared before a court in Toulon, a spokesman for the British consulate said.

The incident took place June 13.
