Army chief greets wounded soldiers

JAKARTA: Army chief of staff Gen. Ryamizard Ryacudu greeted wounded soldiers currently being treated at the Gatot Soebroto Army hospital on Saturday.

The four-star general gave the wounded soldiers a big hug and words of encouragement to boost their morale.

The Army chief, who was accompanied by his wife, also presented a donation to the wounded soldiers.

The soldiers were wounded while on duty in conflict areas, including Aceh, Papua and Maluku. Although most of them were still recovering from their injuries, they looked eager to meet their commander.

Two days earlier, the Army chief celebrated the Idul Fitri holiday with soldiers in Lhokseumawe, Aceh, and in Pekanbaru, Riau. - Antara
