Armed gang robs a house in Puncak

BOGOR (JP): A group of armed robbers raided a villa on Monday in Pacet, Puncak, believed to be owned by a high-ranking official from the scrapped information ministry, a police officer said on Monday.

The thieves broke into the villa through the front door and pointed guns at the owner, Syamsur, 43, and his wife Diah, 44, in the early hours of Monday morning. They then locked them both in the bedroom.

"The armed gang fired in the air twice and ordered the couple to be quiet," the officer at Bogor Regional Police said.

The group escaped with a Toyota sedan, a wrist watch, a cellular phone, jewelry and Rp 700,000 in cash.

" The losses total up to Rp 120 million," said the officer.

The case is being handled by police, pending further investigations. (24/edt)
