Ariawest's access lines up

JAKARTA (JP): PT Ariawest International, a joint operations partner of state telecommunications operator PT Telkom announced on Monday that a survey done by an independent appraiser revealed that the company has built 354,879 access line units in West Java.

Company president John Vondras said the realization had exceeded the company's construction target of 290,000 units as of the end of March.

"The result of the survey shows that we are committed to the telecommunications development of West Java. We are planning to build more lines providing there is demand in the market. As demand has remained firm, we are planning to build some 40,000 more lines for this year alone," Vondras said.

The survey was done by PT Laksa Laksana, an independent appraiser who was involved in counting the access line units built by Telkom's joint operations partners, during Telkom's initial public offering preparations. (gis)
