The Jakarta Post

JAKARTA: Argentina won the KL world 5s futsal (indoor, 5-a-side soccer) tournament after beating favorite Brazil 3-2 in the final match in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Sunday, according to a report.

The victory was decided by a golden goal after both teams were level 2-2 in regulation play. The winner earned US$50,000 of the total US$150,000 on offer.

In the plate category, which was played among the group runner-ups, Japan defeated Thailand 4-3 while Malaysia won the bowl category, competed among the bottom-placed teams, with a 5-4 win over Indonesia.

"This is the best we could give. We prepared only two weeks for the tournament. This team comprises players mostly from the students' league," Indonesian team coach Ureas Rhantoknam said.
