Arab tourist bitten by camel

BOGOR (JP): A Saudi Arabian tourist was bitten on the upper arm by a camel while he was visiting the Indonesian Safari Park in Puncak, West Java, on Friday.

The tourist, identified as Muhamad, 50, was then sent to the Bogor Red Cross Hospital for minor treatment.

Muhammad, along with three other Saudi friends and two local women, were visiting the Safari park in a vehicle on Friday afternoon.

Aisah, who was accompanying the tourist, said Muhamad got out of the vehicle to offer some carrots to one of the camels, which suddenly bit him on the upper arm.

Meanwhile, Asep, a member of the Safari Park's staff, blamed Muhamad for the incident, saying that visitors were clearly warned not to get out off their vehicles.

"Visitors are not allowed to alight from their vehicles, but he insisted on doing so. We are not responsible for this incident because it was the visitor's own fault," he said. (21)
