APSyFI awaits antidumping ruling
APSyFI said on Thursday that the results of the investigation into their dumping complaint against producers from three Asian countries was expected to be announced in the next couple of months.
The association had submitted an antidumping petition to the Indonesia Antidumping Committee (KADI) in February 2003.
The antidumping petition cited South Korea, Taiwan, and Thailand for allegedly dumping their Polyester Staple Fiber (PSF) products in Indonesia.
According to the secretary-general of APSyFI, Kustarjono Projolalito, KADI has been investigating both producers in Indonesia and producers in the three particular countries since September 2003.
Under the World Trade Organization ruling, the antidumping committee can have up to 18 months to conduct the investigation.
Kustarjono said that the investigation would hopefully be finished in April this year. The report would then be submitted to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the Ministry of Finance.
If KADI's investigation can prove the allegations, the Ministry of Finance would then issue a ministerial decree that would stipulate import duties for products from each of the three Asian countries. -- JP
