Apartment market to improve

JAKARTA (JP): The apartment market in the capital is expected to improve from 2001, according to the latest property market update issued by PT Procon Indah/Jones Lang LaSalle.

The demand for apartment rentals is expected to improve from 2001, assuming social and political stability returns in mid 2000, the company said, clarifying an article on the business page of The Jakarta Post's Sept. 17 edition.

The article, based on the company's Biweekly Indonesia Property Market Update, said the apartment market was expected to fully recover in 2001.

The article also said the demand for apartment rentals in the capital may return to the precrisis level in 2001, if the country's social, political and economic climate stabilizes. (hen)
