Apacinti chosen for ASEAN tournament

SEMARANG (JP): The Indonesian Volleyball Association has
selected Central Java-based men's club Apacinti to represent the
country at the ASEAN Junior Tournament from Oct. 2 to Oct. 6 in
Thailand.

"The team was chosen after winning the indoor junior
volleyball competition in Yogyakarta several weeks ago. We have
received an official letter requesting us to prepare (for the
event)," club manager Didi Taufik Hadiwijaya said on Sunday.

"Our players are extremely motivated and pleased to represent
Indonesia in the ASEAN event. They will perform their best".

In the women's event at the ASEAN tournament, a Jakarta club
will be sent to Thailand, but there has not yet been any official
confirmation of which club was chosen. (har)
