Anti-election protester held

BANDUNG: Police here detained on Monday at least one student
of the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) during a rally
opposing the results of the April 5 legislative election.

Ramses J. Tamba, who was protesting among some 50 prodemocracy
activists, was arrested after a large used tire he rolled during
the demonstration on Jl. Martadinata hit a truck carrying dozens
of riot policemen.

The policemen, armed with batons, got off the truck and
immediately nabbed Ramses for questioning.

The truck sustained no damages from the tire. -- JP
