'Antara' joins the Internet
JAKARTA (JP): Antara announced yesterday that it has begun relaying some of its news and photo services on the Internet.
The official news agency signed an agreement yesterday with PT Rahajasa Media Internet (RADnet), one of the major Internet providers in Indonesia, to make its news and photo services available to the global community.
"Our online information service will provide people, especially those abroad, with information on Indonesia," Antara chairman Handjojo Nitimihardjo said after the signing ceremony.
Not all of Antara's services will be free; some will be based on subscription.
