Angry mob kills teenager

DILI, East Timor: A mob of about 200 people beat an 18-year-
old man to death after he had stabbed three men and destroyed
chairs and tables in a church in Ermera regency, Antara reported
on Saturday.

One of the man's three victims died.

Antara quoted East Timor Police spokesman Capt. Widodo as
saying that the young man, Florindo de Jesus, was mentally
disturbed. Police have appealed to the local people not to take
the law into their own hands, he added. (01)
