Andi Mallarangeng to protest KPU
JAKARTA: The executive board of the United Democratic National Party (PPDK) has demanded the General Elections Commission (KPU) to publicly announce the results of the political parties' confirmation to contest the 2004 election.
An immediate announcement from the KPU would help political parties prepare for the elections and also keep the public informed, he said.
PPDK deputy chairman Andi Mallarangeng said on Friday that KPU's plan to announce the results to all parties in December was unfair. He added that his party would officially lodge a protest against the KPU.
Andi said if PPDK was declared qualified for the election, the party could start recruiting presidential candidates. -- JP
