Ancol organizes New Year party

JAKARTA: Several artists will entertain visitors on five stages in Ancol Dreamland, North Jakarta to celebrate New Year's Eve on Tuesday night.

The artists, are dangdut singers Rhoma Irama, Alam, Ikke Nurjanah, Kristina, Veti Vera and Nelly Agustin, and local bands Sheila On 7 and Riff.

The New Year's Eve party entitled: Millions of Lights Night, will be marked with a special fireworks show.

Governor Sutiyoso, accompanied by city's leaders, will attend the year-end celebration.

Sutiyoso and other leaders, as usual, will blow paper trumpets to mark the changing of the year.

The park management has provided a seven-hectare parking lot, additional medical officers and increased security to safeguard the event.--JP
