Amien's name used illegally

YOGYAKARTA: Portraits of Amien Rais, chairman of the 28- million-strong Muhammadiyah, were prominent in a United Development Party campaign in Sleman Tuesday.

Party supporters carried banners with Amien's portrait. Under the picture was his message, "Vote for PPP."

A curious bystander asked a supporter who held such a banner if Amien, who lives in Yogyakarta, was aware of the message or if it was the supporters own initiative.

"I don't care whether Pak Amien is aware or not. It's all our creative work," the supporter said with a grin on his face. (38/pan)
