Amien to prioritize transportation

JAYAPURA, Papua: Siswono Yudohusodo, the running mate of Amien
Rais, said on Tuesday that if elected, Amien would prioritize the
transportation sector in Papua, the country's easternmost and
least developed province.

Siswono said a good transportation system was vital for the
mountainous Papua province.

"The transportation sector is the key to development in Papua.
If the problem of transportation can be addressed in Papua,
people in remote areas will no longer be isolated and their
economic status will improve, which would in turn improve the
standard of living for Papuans as a whole," Siswono said. -- JP
