Amien to bar ministers from going abroad

CIREBON, West Java: Presidential candidate Amien Rais promised his constituents in Cirebon on Thursday that if he were elected president, his first priority would be to temporarily prohibit his ministers from going abroad.

The ministers would be ordered to prioritize all domestic affairs that needed to be addressed immediately, including poverty eradication and the creation of new jobs, he said while campaigning in Gerbang Mekar subdistrict here.

"I myself will set an example for them," said Amien, the presidential candidate of the National Mandate Party (PAN). -- JP
