Amended Constitution published in Javanese
BANTUL, Yogyakarta: Constitutional Court Chief Justice Jimly Asshiddique presented on Sunday the amended 1945 Constitution in Javanese to Yogyakarta Governor Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X and Bantul Regent Idham Samawi.
The official launch of the document in Javanese was aimed at improving people's understanding of the country's amended Constitution.
Jimly, who distributed around 200 free copies of the book at the event, said the Constitution had also been translated into Balinese and was in the process of being translated into the Manado languages, Acehnese as well as Arabic.
The Constitutional Court, he said, had already printed 1,000 copies of the Javanese version.
"With limited time and funds, we hope local administrations will assist us printing the book and will distribute it to members of the public," he said. -- JP
