Ambhara Hotel operates Pub

JAKARTA (JP): In the midst of tough competition in the entertainment business in the capital, Ambhara Hotel on Jl. Iskandarsyah Raya in South Jakarta inaugurated on Wednesday its British-like pub, The Stanford Arms, offering pub-goers an alternative to relax and play after work and on the weekends.

The opening ceremony was lorded over by British Ambassador Robin Christopher, who officially cut the ribbon hanging across the pub's door.

The ambassador was accompanied by Abdul Latief, CEO of the ALatief Corporation, the parent company of Ambhara Hotel.

"We offer British food and drinks, such as Mash & Bangers, Fish and Chips and British pies -- Apple pie and Steak & Kidney pie," Ratih Kusuma Dewi, the hotel's Assistant Public Relation's Manager, said.

"We also have Happy Hour from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. every day, with 20 percent off for beverages, excluding soft drinks and hot drinks," she added, while citing that the pub is open daily from 3 p.m. until 1 a.m., and on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. until 1 a.m.

To accentuate its British touch, the pub is equipped with wooden chairs and red carpet, Dewi said.

The pub adds to the hotel's eight outlets, including Pelangi Cafe, Seruni Lobby Lounge, Croissant de France, Arios Music Lounge, Jewel of India Restaurant and Kagetsu Japanese Restaurant. (imn)
