Ambassador's message

This is a momentous occasion for every citizen of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as for the Arab and Islamic world. Today we are celebrating the 67th National Day of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is the day on which the nation's founder, the late King Abdul Aziz (may he rest in peace), announced the unification of the various parts of the Arab Peninsula under the name of "Kingdom of Saudi Arabia", as an Arab and Islamic State, taking the Book of God (The Holy Qur'an) as its constitution, and taking from the sources of the noble religion all its regulations and laws.

After the death of King Abdul Aziz, the task was continued by his successors, following in his footsteps, not deviating from his path. They added great accomplishments, participating in the crystalization of the volume of the modern state, and solidifying its great existence, so that with its true meaning, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia became part of the forefront of the world countries.

The Tohid Flag was bestowed upon the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz, and his rightful Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Prince Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz, to continue the way of development, the way of goodness and prosperity, for all that serve the land and Saudi society.

This development encompasses all principles; reaching every city and village in a relatively short time, having a quick transfer to the people. This has made the world stand up and take notice, admiring and appreciating what has been accomplished and achieved by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in these modern times. Astonishing development, from technical progress to domestic buildings, have occurred in our country in a short time.

All that is by the grace of God, followed by the wisdom of the leaders of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, who can invest the nation's resources with maximum energy to achieve prosperity and growth for the citizens and provide them with their needs of security and welfare. In this short time, I am pleased to point out the great role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, that expands through the hand of giving, to reach all parts of our great Islamic world, and works for all that to bring progress and reach their ideals and hopes.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has also a concrete and great role to play, starting from its tasks and its feelings of obligation toward the Islamic world, and giving attention to its Islamic courses. Presenting all that will bring them victory and nobleness, so that Muslims will be a strength and a power, by the grace and blessing of God, in this world, spreading justice and love among their societies.

Also what has been done by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through its many generous donations -- domestic and foreign -- to serve the Islamic world and its peoples. Included in this was the huge expansion given to the Holy Mosques in Mecca and Medina as well as other holy places, to provide the best service to enable the pilgrims (for Haj and Umroh) from all over the world to perform their religious obligations promptly and with ease.

This has become a concrete phenomenon, receiving attention from the leaders of Saudi Arabia, with its chief, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz, and his loyal Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Prince Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, the Deputy Prime Minister/Chief of the National Guards, and his Royal Highness Prince Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz, the Second Deputy Prime Minister/Minister of Defense and Aviation/Inspector General.

On this happy occasion, I will not forget to note the friendly and honest relations which join Saudi Arabia and its beloved brother Indonesia and its good people. These relations, praise God, become stronger and more solid, moving from strength to strength, by the wisdom of the leaders of the two great countries.

I ask God to bestow this happy occasion with the goodness, security and peace for the people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and for Islamic nations in general.
