Amanda's murder trial begins
BOGOR: The trial of the murder of Trisakti University student Amanda Devina, 22, who was killed by boyfriend Ronald Johannes, started on Tuesday at Cibinong District Court.
Reading the indictment, prosecutor Tony Spontana charged Ronald under Article 340 of the Criminal Code on premeditated murder which carries a maximum punishment of death and Article 181 on concealing corpses with a maximum punishment of nine months in prison.
The prosecutors said Ronald had made Amanda pregnant. In confusion, the defendant killed Amanda because she refused to abort the baby and asked him to marry her.
