Alternative routes in Pondok Gede

JAKARTA (JP): The City Land Transportation Agency urges motorists to avoid Jl. Raya Pondok Gede, in East Jakarta and take alternative routes during the pilgrimage season.

The agency head J.P. Sepang said yesterday motorists from Bekasi/Pondok Gede to Pasar Minggu/Kebayoran could take Jl. Raya Hankam - Jl. Pager Larang - Jl. Raya Setu - Jl. T.B. Simatupang, or Jl. Raya Pondok Gede Raya - Jl. Lubang Buaya - Jl. Monumen Pancasila Sakti - Jl. Rawa Bening - Jl. Raya Setu - Jl. Hankam - Jl. TB. Simatupang.

Motorists from Bekasi/Pondok Gede to Jatinegara, Senen and Menteng could take Jl. Raya Pondok Gede - Jl. Jati Waringin - Cikampek toll road - Jl. D. I Panjaitan - Jl. M.T. Haryono, or Jl. Raya Pondok Gede - Jl. Jati Waringin - Jl. Raya Kali Malang - Jl. D.I Panjaitan.

Motorists from Pasar Minggu to Bekasi should take Jl. MT Haryono - Cikampek toll road - Jl. Jati Waringin, or Jl. MT Haryono. Jl. Jend. Sutoyo - Jagorawi toll road - Jl. Raya Taman Mini - Jl. Hankam - Jl. Raya Setu.

Motorists from Jatinegara, Senen and Menteng can take Jl. D.I. Panjaitan - Jl. Raya Kali Malang or Cikampek toll road - Jl. Jati Waringin, or Jl. Otista - Cikampek toll road - Jl. Jati Waringin.

"I hope the number of people escorting the pilgrims could be kept to a minimum," Sepang said.

The haj pilgrimage began March 15 with the first flight of Indonesian pilgrims. (jun)
