Allson enters Indonesia
JAKARTA (JP): Hong Kong-based Allson International Hotels and Resorts has said it is upbeat about its first Indonesian hotel, the Allson Residence in Senen, Central Jakarta.
Over the weekend, Allson Residence's Berman Hatta told The Jakarta Post here that since its soft opening of the first 88 units launched last June, the average occupancy rate had reached 67 percent.
The 23-story property, which offers 155 apartments with star- rated hotel services, is part of the Mitra Oasis complex developed by the SMR Group.
"We are targeting long-staying guests, corporations, group travelers and individual guests as our customers," he said, adding that the grand launch was scheduled for mid-1998.
Hatta said that as a property offering serviced apartment, Allson Residence was ready to compete with existing star-rated hotels in the area.
Allson International, set up in 1990, is committed to have a portfolio of at least 11 hotels with over 3,000 rooms in six nations by the end of this year.
The Allson Residence in Jakarta is the sixth property in the Allson's network in addition to five currently under construction in the Asia Pacific region. (icn)
