Alleged robber captured

BOGOR (JP): Police captured on Wednesday the alleged mastermind behind a Rp 1.8 billion robbery at his hiding place in the Cimerak area, West Java.

Beni Bundu, 34, who has been at large since the robbery in August, was captured at the home of his third wife after police raided the residence, said West Java Police spokesman Adj.Sr.Comr. Dade Ahmad.

Along with his seven other accomplices, Beni robbed cash to be used for the salary payments of PT Great River after it had just been withdrawn from a Lippo Bank branch at Jl. Juanda in Bogor.

The other alleged robbers are currently in detention at Bogor prison. They are: H. Matsudi, Tugyanto, Adi Setyo, Yustinus Lelatobur, Antono Dwi, Suyono, and Micah.

Beni did not make any attempt to resist arrest when he found out that police had surrounded his wife's house, Dade said.(21)
