Alleged killer hunted down

PROBOLINGGO, East Java: The local police have arrested a man
accused of beheading his own girlfriend last week, according to
Antara.

The 30-year-old suspect, identified by his initials MAD, was
picked up at his home at Kuripan village on Monday night. He did
not put up much of a fight when the police team arrived.

Probolinggo Police Chief Lt. Col. Suyatno said the suspect
admitted to the murder during questioning, saying that he was
upset when he found out that she was seeing a former boyfriend.

One day last week, MAD took his girlfriend to the outskirts of
nearby Timoho forest where he stabbed her in the neck with a
sickle, according to the police.

Villagers who discovered her body a few hours after the murder
said her head was found some two meters away. Police also found
18 stab wounds on her body. (emb)
