Alleged killer arrested
JAKARTA (JP): Police yesterday apprehended a man in his relative's house in Leuwiliang village, Bogor, West Java, for allegedly beating to death a security guard.
Central Jakarta Police Chief Lt. Col. Abubakar Nataprawira said the alleged killer, identified as Hamdani, beat the victim, identified as Agus Suganda, on Jl. Tongkang, Kramat district, in Central Jakarta on July 4.
"Agus was beaten with a piece of bamboo in his face and body. This led to his death on Monday," Abubakar said.
Witnesses said that Hamdani got angry when Agus pinched Hamdani's nephew for kicking his mattress which was airing in the yard. Hamdani, 39, was a neighbor of the 49-year-old victim, not nephew as earlier reported. (jun)
