Alleged drug supplier nabbed at prison

TANGERANG: Tangerang Police arrested a woman on Thursday for trying to smuggle narcotics into the Tangerang Penitentiary for an inmate.

Tangerang Police chief Adj. Insp. Sunardi said that the suspect, identified as Rusmaini Rahman, 39, a resident of Central Jakarta, was visiting her boyfriend Sidik, who is serving time for illegal weapon possession.

A female guard searched her and her bag filled with food for her boyfriend, and found three packets of shabu-shabu (crystal methamphetamine) wrapped in aluminum foil inside a box of sachets of coffee mix.

According to Sunardi, the suspect said she bought the drug from a supplier in Jakarta for Rp 500,000 per packet.

"We are questioning her for further investigation," Sunardi added.--JP
