Alleged document forger acquitted

BANDAR LAMPUNG, Lampung: The district court in Tanjungkarang
yesterday cleared a consultant from all charges of falsifying an
environmental impact study for a marble factory.

Judges said yesterday that Suharyono from the CV Suay Umpu
Consultant was not guilty of falsifying the document for PT Pola
Marmer Kencana.

Suharyono was charged with falsifying data on the
environmental impact study in favor of his client, PT Pola Marmer
Kencana, that was to build a new plant.

Under environmental law, anyone guilty of such an offense is
subject to six months imprisonment.

Judges said the prosecutors failed to come up with adequate
data to put Suharyono behind bars, Antara reported. (pan)
