Alleged big-time thief arrested

BOGOR (JP): Cileungsi Police have arrested an alleged long- time thief named Rohman, alias Gobang, 32, who has been on their wanted list since September last year.

Bogor Police chief Lt. Col. Ade Husen and Cileungsi Police chief First Lt. Sartono said Gobang was arrested after police raided his house in Kembang Kuning village, Cileungsi district.

"We were forced to shoot him in his right leg as he was trying to escape the scene," Ade said on Wednesday, adding that Gobang was wearing the uniform of the Police Mobile Brigade (Brimob) with boots and carrying a sickle at the time of his arrest.

Police say Gobang and his gang have committed major thefts in the area, including ransacking furniture and tin factories, getting away with a total of Rp 35 million in cash. (21/edt)
