Alatas visits East Timor

DILI, East Timor: The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ali Alatas, arrived yesterday for a three-day visit in his capacity as a functionary of the ruling Golkar party.

Alatas was greeted by the East Timor deputy governor, J. Haribowo, local military chief Col. M. Simbolon, chairman of the provincial Golkar branch, Armindo Soares Mariano, and government officials.

Alatas is scheduled to meet with local Golkar leaders and cadres, Antara reported. (anr)
