Akbar to set up foundation
JAKARTA: Former Golkar Party leader Akbar Tandjung is considering to set up a foundation that will conduct research and monitoring of social and political development.
Akbar, who had just lost party leadership to Jusuf Kalla, said on Tuesday he could not stay away from politics because he grew up in politics and youth organizations.
"Some suggest that I should set up a foundation or a research center. But, I will think about it after January," he said.
According to Akbar, the first thing that he will do after losing the leadership is to do physical exercise and spend time with his family.
In the next couple of days, Akbar will fly to the United States to visit his daughter who is studying there. - JP
