AKAINDO responds

In response to The Jakarta Post's report on March 25, titled
Water investors threaten to quit agreement, I would like to make
the following comments:

1. To form an opinion in looking into the problems of drinking
water in Jakarta in a narrow-minded manner will harm both
investors and Jakarta residents.

2. Investments and drinking water are undeniably inseparable
and mutually supportive, so a rate increase would be part of the
investment to improve drinking water in Jakarta.

3. It is hoped that all parties honor the existing contracts
for the good of Jakarta residents and investors and restrain from
making unnecessary comments that could harm both sides.

4. That all statements made by those on behalf of the
Association of Indonesian Water Works Contractors (AKAINDO)
should not be responded to as we are AKAINDO's legal
representatives.

MUCHLIS MOECHTAR, Chairman, AKAINDO Regional Board of Executives,
