Ria Sjahroni, corporate secretary of PT Indocement Tunggal
Perkasa (ITP) seems to be very upset by the report published in
Kompas, which mentions that ITP is one of the industries that
causes air pollution to its surroundings.

She proudly listed the efforts that have been made by ITP to
deal with pollution, such as the construction of a electrostatic
precipitator, that cost the company Rp 55 billion, monitoring the
health of people in the neighboring areas, provision of mobile,
public health care and health allowances given to local
residents.

I am sure Ria Sjahroni is ignorant of the previous condition
of the surrounding areas like Citeureup, Cileungsi and Gunung
Putri before ITP was established. So she cannot make a comparison
with present conditions.

Let me clarify the matter. Supposing, you, being a healthy
person, are injected with poison, then you are treated using
first-class facilities, handled by the best doctor. Are you happy
with the situation?
