AILM Chorale back in town

JAKARTA (JP): After their successful performances in Jakarta and Bandung last year, the AILM Chorale, a choir of the Asian Institute for Liturgy and Music based in Manila, the Philippines, has returned to perform in the capital.

The choir is conducted by Jonathan Velasco, a gifted conductor who was chosen to conduct the World Youth Choir this year.

The Jakarta Theological Seminary, as the host and coordinator for the choir's performances in Jakarta, has arranged several concerts for them in cooperation with local churches, namely at GPIB Effatha (Indonesian and English morning services, on Sept. 29), Maria Kusuma Karmel Catholic Church (evening mass, Sept. 29), GKI Kwitang (Oct. 1) and GKI Pondok Indah (Oct. 3).

A special performance will be held at the Yamaha Building on Jl. M.T. Haryono in East Jakarta, but the date has yet to be decided. Those interested in watching the performance can contact Ms. Elsye Sanjoyo (phone 310-7955) or Ms. Anny Gosana (phone 452- 0063). (bas)
