Agro conference in Bali
JAKARTA (JP): The Asian Society of Agricultural Economists, an academic forum focusing on agricultural and rural issues in Asia, is to hold its second conference in Bali from Aug. 6 to Aug. 9.
The conference, to be held at the Kartika Plaza Beach Hotel, will focus on the theme "Asian Agriculture Facing the 21st Century" and will discuss topics such as trade liberalization, sustainable agricultural systems and national resource conservation, and structural transformation in rural communities.
The conference is scheduled to be opened by Coordinating Minister for Economy and Finance Saleh Afiff and will be attended by some 200 participants from across Asia.
The Indonesian organizing committee is directed by the Association of Indonesian Agricultural Economists. (pwn)
