Agents qualify for honors

JAKARTA (JP): Fifty-three agents of PT Asuransi Jiwa Sewu New
York Life have qualified to become members of the US$1 million
round table (MDRT) for 1998.

The company said yesterday that MDRT was the premier
international life insurance association of qualifying sales
professionals which had accommodated about 19,000 members from
450 life insurance companies in over 50 countries worldwide.

The company said New York Life had dominated MDRT's top list
in terms of number of agents, with 1,477 New York Life agents
qualifying for MDRT members in 1997.

Sewu New York Life, set up in 1992, is a joint venture between
Indonesia's Gunung Sewu Kencana and New York Life through its
subsidiary New York Life International.

The company has 37 branches throughout Indonesia with over
1,500 insurance agents. (aly)
