African dies of vodka, heroin

JAKARTA (JP): An African died a horrible death on Tuesday
morning, after reportedly swallowing a lethal mixture of vodka
and heroin at his apartment in Tower II of Rasuna Said Apartments
in Kuningan, South Jakarta.

The man, identified only as Patay, 38, died after receiving
two hours of treatment at the emergency ward of Metropolitan
Medika Center (MMC) Hospital in Kuningan.

Patay's wife, Erna, 28, an Indonesian citizen, told reporters
that she had only been married three months to Patay, who sold
clothes at Tanah Abang market in Central Jakarta.

"We were at the apartment in Rasuna Said on Tuesday, my
husband swallowed a mixture of vodka and heroin. He then started
to scream and shout wildly. We rushed him to MMC hospital," Erna
said.

Setiabudi Police detectives in South Jakarta were unable to
find Patay's passport at the Rasuna Said apartment and were
currently handling the case. (ylt)
