Afghan refugees stage hunger strike
MATARAM, West Nusa Tenggara: Three Afghan refugees began a hunger strike on Tuesday and sewed their mouths shut, after a similar protest earlier in the year.
The protest is aimed at pressuring the United Nations High Commissioners for Refugee into sending dozens of Afghan refugees to a third country willing to accept them.
The refugees, who are being housed in the Nusantara Building in Ampenan, said they would remain on strike until the death if their demand was not met.-- JP
