Afghan refugees return home

BOGOR: A total of 166 Afghan refugees, who had been living in three shelters in Bogor, have returned to Afghanistan with the improving situation in that country following the establishment of a new government.

The head of the Bogor Immigration Office, Teuku Sjahrial, said on Monday that 86 percent of 193 refugees in Bogor were from Afghanistan, while the rest were from the Middle East.

"In general, the refugees wanted to return to Afghanistan because the situation has returned to normal," he said.

Indonesia has become a destination country for refugees from the Middle East and Afghanistan. --JP
