Affandi family exhibition

JAKARTA (JP): The first-ever joint exhibition featuring the
finest artwork of the late Affandi, his wife Maryati and his
daughters, Rukmini and Kartika, will be held at the Regent
Jakarta from June 20 to July 7.

Jointly organized by The Regent Jakarta, Dharma Gallery and
exhibition coordinator Irwan Holmes, the exhibition -- entitled
"Affandi and Family" -- will display around 100 works, including
the paintings and graphics of Affandi, Indonesia's first and most
well-known contemporary painter.

Affandi, born in 1907, was considered one of Indonesia's best
painters. He died in 1990.

Coordinator Holmes said the exhibition would be a once-in-a-
lifetime opportunity for collectors, as many of the works have
never appeared on the market before. (sur)
