Additional budget set at Rp 248.5 m
JAKARTA: The city administration has submitted its budget revision for 2005 to the City Council and asked city councillors to approve additional funding of Rp 248.5 billion (US$24.13 million) for this year.
The city's 2005 budget stands at Rp 14.01 trillion.
Head of the city development planning Achmad Harjadi said on Friday that the funds would be used for various sectors.
He said that the health and education sectors, for example, would get an additional budget allocation of Rp 16.1 million, which will be used to prepare the city Science and Math Olympiad, used for the polio vaccination drive and the construction of the Jakarta Nursing Academy building.
Meanwhile, the natural resources and environment sectors would get Rp 50.5 billion, to be used for for technical items related to the two new busway corridors and land acquisition for waste treatment projects in Marunda.
Meanwhile, for the city infrastructure sector, the city proposed Rp 8.9 billion for flood mitigation along busway corridors II and III, a road lighting project and pedestrian bridge project on Jl. Thamrin, Central Jakarta. --JP
