Activists caught for drugs

BANDUNG: Two members of non-governmental antinarcotics and anticrime organizations were caught red handed by police using crystal methamphetamine, locally known as shabu shabu, in a red light district here on Thursday.

Police confiscated 0.5 grams of the contraband from Nandang S and A. Priyatna during a midnight raid on the Saritem complex.

No information was available about what organization the two belong to.

Bandung City Police chief Sr. Supt. Alex Bambang Riatmodjo said the two claimed that the narcotics belonged to somebody else. "But urine test results indicated that they had used the drugs."

If found guilty the two activists will get five years imprisonment each.
