Action taken to avoid panic

BANDUNG, West Java: Local police are conducting a week-long course on handling bomb threats at vital and public installations in the area, a police said on Wednesday.

The head of the training and education division at the West Java Police Headquarters, Sr. Supt. Effendi, said the training, which ends on Friday, will be attended by police detectives, public service officers, entrepreneurs and government officials.

"The training is important to ensure better public awareness in facing bomb threats and to avoid panic," he was quoted by Antara as saying. (lup)
