Acehnese students get scholarships

DEPOK: Schlumberger Indonesia, a subsidiary of the global oil field services giant, has awarded scholarships to 57 undergraduate students from tsunami-affected Aceh studying at the University of Indonesia.

The one-year scholarships are worth Rp 750,000 per month. Thirty other Acehnese students at the University of Indonesia earlier received scholarships, mostly from private companies.

In addition to the University of Indonesia students, Sclumberger also has presented scholarships to Acehnese students studying at Gadjah Mada University in Yogyakarta and the Tenth of November Institute of Technology in Surabaya. --JP
