Aceh students again rally for free tuition

BANDA ACEH, Aceh: Hundreds of students from Syiah Kuala University (Unsyiah) in Banda Aceh again held a protest at the university compound on Monday, demanding the university president, Abdi Abdul Wahab, to provide them and the lecturers shelter and free tuition for one semester.

The two-hour long protest was the third in the past week.

Zulfikar, the chairman of the university's student association, said that shelter provision was aimed at creating a better learning environment as many of their homes as well as those of many lecturers were destroyed in the tsunami on Dec. 26. -- JP
