BANDA ACEH, Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam: The martial law
administration in Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam has arrested the
provincial secretary's treasurer Teuku Lizam for corruption.

"He has been arrested and is being questioned by the martial
law administration's intelligence unit for alleged corruption,"
Aceh military commander Maj. Gen. Endang Suwarya told reporters
on Sunday.

The investigators also include state prosecutors.

Without revealing details, Endang said the martial law
administration would take stern action against those who robbed
the state.

Endang, who has served as the Aceh military commander months
before the imposition of martial law in May last year, said his
administration was aiming at improving people's welfare.

"Therefore if the bureaucracy always thinks about how to best
serve the public, there will be no corruption," he said. --
